Helps my Sprint SPC-2700 (used Rip-it energy drink can)get 2-3 bars when in same spot only gets 1. Also helps my Samsung Moment get a pretty steady 2 bars of EV signal when normally in same spot 1 bar. NOTE: it seems to be best if the can is a bit taller than the phone when propped up. Also I made the same design out of a Hunt’s branded Spaghetti sauce TIN can 26.5 oz. which is what gave the Samsung Moment better signal. Haven’t tried calling with it sitting there using blue tooth but I will.

He basically made a parabolic antenna similar to how satalite dishes work by bouncing and reflecting a bigger concentration of signal in one direction. It should work but as he explains at the end, you need to point it in the right direction toward the nearest tower. You can find that out just by rotating and repositioning the device while watching the signal strength bars.
i would say this probly works. becuase at a good friends house i have no signal what so ever but i can sit my phone on top of an emtpy pop can or beer can and be able to have right at 2 bars. i just wonder if there is someway of putting the aluminum inside the case or something so you dont have to always have the half can thing
It works for my Nokia N78 very well! By the way, the signal well fall if you try to touch the can. So it’s better you use ear phone to make the calls.

Now does this contration u made actually work. i have low reception in my basement and the spots that do have reception (highest is about 1-2 bars) i want more like 4-5 bars. even if it increases my one bar it is working. please respond to me and tell me what ur result was. This was actually painful to watch – all i could think of is some kid trying this at home and slicing the sh*t out of themselves! They ought to have an intro with a warning NOT to try this at home! The PAYOFF at the end of the video – that this is ONLY good for TEXT messaging in weak reception areas when you know where the nearest tower is summed up its usefulness to ME. NONE!!! You could have let us know that at THE BEGINNING!
